Christine Fei, a 100 hour certified Ashtanga teacher from Pure Yoga began practicing yoga of various styles mainly from watching YouTube videos with some occasional classes in NYC (primarily vinyasa and bikram) in 2014 as a freshman in Queensborough community college. She was introduced to the system of Ashtanga yoga by Kino MacGregor and was immediately captivated by the consistency of the practice and its spiritual component. Her search to learn more brought her to Jivamukti yoga school where she established her dedicated Mysore practice led by authorized Ashtanga teachers Lori Brungard and Adam Wade.
Christine Fei’s pursuit of healthy living and eating in improving quality of life and achieving happiness not only comes from her dedication to yoga. With a nursing background from Shanghai, China, she returned back to NYC as a busy full-time college student and a working medical assistant. During her recent years, her greatest inspiration to pursue a masters degree as a physician assistant comes from her current physician, Yiling Huang, an internist in Internal Medicine and her day-to-day patient interactions inspires her. In addition, she became intrigued by nutrition’s role in health prevention and is about to complete her bachelors degree in Queens College’s Dietetics and Nutrition program.
She hopes that with her background knowledge in medicine, yoga, and nutrition, she can help transform lives of many others just as much as they did to her own.
